The Duchess of Sussex has released the third episode of her Spotify podcast Archetypes this morning. The instalment sees Meghan speak with American TV star Mindy Kaling about the “Stigma of the Singleton”.
It comes as the Queen is imminently due to welcome outgoing Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his successor Liz Truss following her success in the Tory leadership contest.
Meghan’s two previous episodes have become a talking point over the past fortnight, with huge revelations already delivered in just two episodes.
So far, the duchess has detailed how a fire broke out in her son Archie’s nursery while on a tour of South Africa, and has discussed how women are stereotyped and misrepresented in the modern world.
Her candid insights into her life and work have been a hit with fans, having stayed atop Spotify’s podcast charts for the second week in a row.
THE BLOG IS NOW CLOSED.
THE QUEEN looked “welcoming, friendly and delighted” to meet Britain’s new Prime Minister Liz Truss, a body language expert has claimed.
On Tuesday, the Conservative leadership election winner Liz Truss officially became Prime Minister after flying to Balmoral Castle to ask the Queen’s permission to form a new Government.
Judi James, a leading television body language and behaviour expert, said that Ms Truss appeared “keen but also rather self-consciously awkward” with the Queen.
Liz Truss became the Queen’s 15th Prime Minister during her 70-year reign on the throne, as the newly appointed leader flew from London with her husband Hugh O’Leary to Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

Despite Prince Harry’s decision to step down as a senior member of the royal family, should none of the Cambridges become King or Queen, the Duke of Sussex still remains sixth in the line of succession.
The Duke of Sussex formally stepped away from his royal duties in 2020 and has since made a home for himself and his wife, Meghan Markle, in California with their children Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor and Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.
The third episode of Meghan Markle’s podcast, Archetypes was released on Spotify today, with guest Mindy Kaling.
Express.co.uk spoke to a speech analyst to examine the Duchess of Sussex’s tone of voice and what she revealed on the podcast.
Judi James said: “With her speech in Manchester last night as well as previous podcasts and now this latest one, Meghan seems to be drip-feeding us the story of her life in chapters.
“She begins this new podcast with her words and her vocal tone in pure story-telling style ‘When I was 14….’ , relating incidents and experiences using pauses, breathy emphasis and the vocal nuances of someone reading a storybook to a group of children.
“It is as engaging as her narrative appears confusing”

Meghan Markle has admitted that she “planned her wedding” decades before marrying Harry.
In the latest episode of her podcast Archetypes, she said: “When I was 14, I planned my wedding. Not my actual wedding. That would have been a bit harder to imagine.
“This wedding was an assignment for my Religion 2 class in Catholic school.
“I remember every little thing about it. I wanted it to be at The Bel-Air Hotel. And there was a swan lake, and I wanted the cake to be from Hansen’s Bakery.
“And the dress — oh my goodness, the dress was strapless and poofy and I’d seen it in a bridal magazine … and, and I bought it, not the dress — I bought the bridal magazine because I took this project seriously.”

Meghan and Harry have been told to “leave us alone” by GB News host Dan Wootton as he hit out at the couple for their “horrifying” blow to Prince William and Prince Charles.
Mr Wootton added: “I’m going to be completely honest with you, the mood is, ‘please go away, please leave us alone.’
“We are disgusted with the way they have treated Prince William and Kate.
“We are horrified by the way they’ve treated their father, Prince Charles.”

Speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino, Darren Stanton said: “Ahead of her speech, Meghan was completely stoic and very focused. From the moment she and Harry entered the auditorium it was clear this was very much Meghan’s event. She was a stride ahead of Harry as they walked into the room, signifying her confidence and her dominance in that moment, as Harry remained slightly behind, adopting a supportive role instead.
“Meghan is a very good speaker and clearly very experienced in standing front and centre. There’s no denying her speech was impressive – although, it seemed like her smiles were rehearsed and appeared less than genuine at times. This could be Meghan’s attempt to mask her internal emotions, potentially nerves she felt in the moment, as people have a tendency to do so when in the spotlight.
“Harry, meanwhile, was happy to take a backseat at the event, always hanging back and allowing Meghan the time to soak up the adulation shown towards her. It’s worth noting that Harry didn’t appear completely at ease. He was showing signs of frustration and appeared anxious throughout his appearance and looked almost like a fish out of water at times.”
Vote in our poll.
Discussing her childhood with writer Mindy Kaling she said: “I always thought, well I’m way more Betty than Veronica, and am I going to get the guy one day?
“And I was the smart one, not the pretty one.”
Mindy asked Meghan: “Were you not the pretty one growing up?”
To which the Duchess responded: “No. Oh god, no…No. Nuh-uh.”
The writer added: “That is news to me.”
Meghan continued: “Ugly duckling…Look, maybe not conventional beauty as it… now, maybe that would be seen as beautiful but massive frizzy curly hair and a huge gap in my teeth.”

Meghan Markle has been praised as she “scooped up tinsel and title” to set up the Sussex brand.
Discussing Meghan’s recent interview with The Cut, historian Dr Tessa Dunlop said: “The journalist in question basically says what a lot of us, I think, now realise is that Meghan went into the Royal Family, scooped up the tinsel and the title and went back to America and has started working with those credits.
“[and] bigging up her own image and making her own products.
“I would say, to an extent, fair play to her.
“That’s the way of the world.”

Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu has claimed Meghan and husband Prince Harry are “successfully proving” it is possible to “live a life of service” outside the “suffocating confines, antiquated protocols and rigid structures of the royal institution”.
She wrote for the i newspaper: “Harry and Meghan are successfully proving that it is possible to live a life of service outside the suffocating confines, antiquated protocols and rigid structures of the royal institution.
“I rather suspect the Royal Family is part of the “I don’t like Meghan Markle brigade”, which means that it will be hard for it to swallow its pride, acknowledge that it handled Meghan’s arrival – and subsequent departure – badly and do better.
“Instead, I expect so-called ‘Palace sources’ and ‘royal experts’ to be briefing against the couple on this trip.
“Will the Royal Family learn from Harry and Meghan, embrace them and adapt in order to survive? I very much doubt it – but I would be delighted to be proved wrong.”

Speaking to Mark Dolan on GB News, royal expert Duncan Larcombe said that it is “inevitable” that Meghan and Harry will be stripped of their royal titles.
He said: “In many ways, stripping them with the title isn’t blindly going to make any difference.
“In Meghan’s magazine interview, there was a point in where she was referred to a ‘Princess’ and that was not even corrected. The Queen is a head of an organisation. She is the boss.
“She had to sack Prince Andrew although she didn’t take away his title of ‘Prince’ or Duke of York, and she had to intervene historically with Harry and Meghan, wishing them well, but taking away HRH.”
He added: “It is now, I think, almost inevitable that the Queen has no more choice but to say ‘enough is enough Harry and Meghan’.
“‘Good luck in your new life but we have to take this away’.

“They are now ordinary citizens and only represent themselves. Something Harry wanted so badly. Countries should behave accordingly.”

The ceremony, which usually takes place at either Buckingham Palace or Windsor Castle, has been moved due to the Queen’s mobility issues.
Royal expert Russell Myers has warned her issues are increasing.
Buckingham Palace announced last week that the Queen would appoint the new prime minister in Balmoral, where she spends her summers, due to mobility issues.
With the nation’s longest reigning monarch just four years away from her 100th birthday and facing ongoing mobility issues, practical adjustments and last-minute changes to the Queen’s diary have become the norm.
The Queen, under whose reign there have been 14 prime ministers before Ms Truss, has had to scale back her public appearances in recent months due to ongoing issues, and also spent a night in hospital last October for an unspecified illness.

Meghan has said Ms Kaling’s choice shows “her the importance of forging your own path”.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have left Windsor for Germany, where they will make their next stop on their short visit to Europe.

Michelle Eagleton has claimed the Sussexes and Cambridges are likely to give eachother a “wide berth” over this week while Meghan and Harry visit the UK.
Ms Eagleton said: “I think the thing is that there is a lot of trust lost between William and Harry, and I do think they are probably not going to have that meeting again until after that book is released, which we know is coming in November from Harry, because we are hearing it is not going to be so good for the royals.
“And, of course, we have got their documentary that is coming out on Netflix in December.
“So, I just think a wide-berth despite the fact they are half a mile down the road and you would think they would give them a bit of a visit.”
Meghan Markle has released her latest podcast episode.
The third instalment of Archetypes, titled “The Stigma of the Singleton”, sees Meghan talk with American TV star Mindy Kaling.
The description to this week’s episode reads: “Meghan speaks candidly with Mindy Kaling who opens up in an unprecedented conversation about the joys, challenges, and stigmas of her life as a single, unmarried woman – plus her decision to start a family on her own.
“This episode also features New York Magazine writer Rebecca Traister, who unpacks the many archetypes that have followed single women for generations.”
Meghan Markle is not the most popular royal in America, with the title being snatched by Kate Middleton, according to one commentator.
Columnist Celia Walden has claimed Kate Middleton is the most popular “princess” in America, despite the native Meghan Markle bringing the USA into the royal fold. In her most recent column for the Telegraph, M
s Walden said: “’Roll out the royal red carpet!’ clamour the US press, as excitement ramps up about the Cambridges’ trip to the second annual Earthshot Prize awards ceremony in Boston, where they will give speeches about the (again, lesser) issue of saving the planet.”
Ms Walden claims she has heard first-hand from Americans about who the most popular royal is.
She continued: “I don’t need official stats to corroborate the national perception of Meghan, summed up by a New York Post headline last week as a “toddler in a tiara”, or a recent poll to confirm that “Kate is now twice as popular with the American public as Meghan”.
“As they flicked through their copies of US Weekly, real, manicured Americans have been telling me that for years.
“Disrespecting the Queen – who is adored to a touching degree Stateside – was the Sussexes’ first mistake.”
Referring to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, she continued: “They’ve kept their heads down, they’ve kept their dignity and they’ve kept their credibility.
“So that US crown? It’s William and Kate’s for the taking.”
The tweet reads: “Ms. Truss is the 15th Prime Minister to serve during Her Majesty’s reign.
“The first was Winston Churchill in 1952.”
ud83eudd1d Later today, The Queen will receive Liz Truss at Balmoral Castle to formalise her new position as Prime Minister.
Ms. Truss is the 15th Prime Minister to serve during Her Majestyu2019s reign. The first was Winston Churchill in 1952.

Speaking to The Sun, Judi James said Meghan handled the event “like a rock star” while Harry appeared “awkward and bashful”.
She said: “Meghan arrived down the steps between the audience like a rock star, hand in hand with a more bashful looking Harry and giving sweet baby-waves to the fans on either side.”
Meanwhile, Ms James claimed Harry was “riddled with signals of anxiety and awkwardness”.
She continued: “He literally folded his jacket across his torso at one point, checked his tie several times and hiked his pants or fiddled with his shirt or cuffs.
“Meghan name-checked him lovingly during her speech and he responded awkwardly, looking down and then upward with what looked like a sigh.”

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry travelled by train to their first UK appearance in months yesterday.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were spotted using a private entrance at London’s Euston Station before boarding a train. Last night, the Duchess of Sussex delivered a speech at the One World Summit in Manchester.
While travelling, Meghan was sporting an all tan outfit with her hair neatly tied back into a slick ponytail. Harry wore a white shirt with a blue blazer and jeans.
The couple have been in the UK since Saturday and have been staying at Frogmore Cottage on the grounds of Windsor Castle, where they lived before their dramatic exit from frontline royal life in 2020.
During her speech on Monday evening, Meghan said it was “nice to be back” in the UK.
It marked her first speech on British soil in two years, which she used to thank young leaders from across the world for their service.

Speaking to US Weekly, royal commentator Christopher Andersen said: “It’s going to be interesting in the next few days when Harry and Meghan go to Europe, and they’re gonna be playing royal hide and seek.
“The Cambridges are out of the way during the first part of the Sussexes’ trip to Britain, but on September 8 the Sussexes return to Britain from Germany.
“They’re going to be, literally, a brief stroll from each other on the grounds of Windsor because the Cambridges have to return in time to get their kids in school.”

After their meeting, Ms Truss will become the UK Prime Minister.
She will be the 15th Prime Minister of Queen Elizabeth’s reign.
Here is the Duchess of Sussex’s speech from the One Young World summit in full:
“It is very nice to be back in the UK and it is very nice to be back with all of you at One Young World.
“As you’ll likely hear many times this week, you’ll hear all sorts of things: Some very heavy, some very uplifting, but the resounding spirit, I believe you’ll hear, is that you are the future. But I would like to add to that, that you are also the present.
“You are the ones driving the positive and necessary change needed across the globe now in this very moment and for that, I’m so grateful to be in your company today.
“It was several years ago in 2014 that I was first invited to be a counsellor at One Young World and, in many ways at the time, I was probably a lot like each of you: Young, ambitious, advocating for the things I deeply and profoundly believed in.
“And also looking around and wondering, ‘How on earth did I get here?’ Have any of you today so far had that feeling, that ‘Pinch me’ moment, where you’re just so, ‘How am I here?’ And at that dinner there were 28 to 30 of us, the counsellors, and there I was this girl from Suits and I was surrounded by world leaders, humanitarians, prime ministers and activists that I had such a deep and longstanding respect and admiration for. And I was invited to pull up a seat at the table.
“I was so overwhelmed by this experience, I think I even saved my little paper place card that said my name on it – just proof, proof that I was there. And proof that I belonged.
“Because the truth was I wasn’t sure that I belonged. I was so nervous. I doubted myself and I wondered, wondered if I was good enough to be there – what I was doing in the world, albeit important and meaningful as far as I saw it, was it deserving to have a seat at this table?
“But One Young World saw in me what I wanted to see fully in myself. They saw in me, just as I see in you, the present and the future. And I reiterate that point because often times when we speak to young adults about the years ahead, about what you’ll do, what you’ll have to adopt to fix from previous generations and also what legacy you will leave, but too often in that we neglect the point that you’re doing it now. You here in this present moment, this is where it’s all beginning.
“The first year I joined the delegation in Dublin I worked with a young woman from Eritrea and she described how she had escaped her home country, fleeing with bullets fired above her head. I still remember it so well. I remember my shock and also remember her courage. My recognition of how much continues to go on each day with so many turning a blind eye, and yet despite all odds, she, like so many, still persevered.
“I followed up that trip joining a delegation in 2016 in Ottawa. I was very lucky to receive a day off of filming specifically to take a quick flight from Toronto up to Ottawa and to be able to join this work again for One Young World, being with some people I admired most, including former president of Ireland Mary Robinson. I joined you in London in 2019 and by that point, it’s fair to say, my life had changed rather significantly. I was now married and I was now a mom.”
At this point, there were cheers from the audience, before Meghan continued.
She said: “My world view had expanded exponentially, seeing the global community through the eyes of my child and I would ask, what is this world he would come to adopt? And what can we do, what can I do to make it better?
“I’m thrilled that my husband is able to join me here this time…”
“To be able to see and witness firsthand my respect for this organisation, this incredible organisation and all that it provides as well as accomplishes. One Young World had been an integral part of my life for so many years before I met him so to meet again here, on UK soil, with him by my side, make it all feel full circle.
“And just as a sidebar, earlier this afternoon we sat down with a few of you delegates and it was incredibly inspiring, the resounding themes that came up. About representation, about inclusion, about access and about trying to shift the global perspective for all of us as a global community to one of curiosity over criticism.
“My husband has long advocated for important and necessary impact in the world, focusing a huge part of his life’s work on the youth. So for both of us, bearing witness to the power that you hold in your hands and the unbridled enthusiasm and energy that you have to see things come to fruition – it is just an absolute privilege. I’m incredibly humbled to not just stand before each of you, but to stand beside you.
“We often hear people say the time is now, but I’m going to double down on that, by saying your time is now. The important work can’t wait for tomorrow.
“And this week the world is watching as you cement your place in history by showcasing the good that you are doing today in the present moment as we embrace the moment of now to create a better tomorrow.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been praised by Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu, who claims the Sussexes have “achieved more global recognition” than other royals, including Kate Middleton and Prince William.
She said: “In the two years since stepping down as senior royals, Harry and Meghan have achieved more global recognition than any other current working royal, with the exception of the Queen.
“Their brand is more powerfully relatable than that of the Royal Family, which is losing public support over the Sussexes just as it did over its appalling treatment of Princess Diana.
“Young people, the future of this country, listen to the Sussexes (Meghan’s podcast, Archetypes, went to No 1 in Spotify’s chart in the first week of release).
She added: “Harry and Meghan are successfully proving that it is possible to live a life of service outside the suffocating confines, antiquated protocols and rigid structures of the royal institution.”
