Louisiana Tech football did not have a game scheduled for last week but that didn’t mean that they stood idle waiting for a normal game week to get back into the rhythm of things.
It was the opposite, the Bulldogs kept busy with practice and self scouting, coach Sonny Cumbie told reporters on Tuesday. The Bulldogs jump into Conference-USA action in their second home game of the of the season against UTEP on Saturday ( 6 p.m., ESPN+).
Before the week off, the Bulldogs (1-3) fell to South Alabama 38-14 to wrap off the non-conference schedule. Meanwhile UTEP (3-3, 1-1 Conference-USA) has been playing week after week. The Miners are coming off a 45-31 win over Charlotte.
The Miners are lead by quarterback Gavin Hardison who has thrown 98-for-186 for 1266 yards, six TDs and three interceptions. The UTEP defense has been responsible for three interceptions, 21 broken up passes and 29 quarterback hurries.
Parker McNeil will get the start for the Bulldogs again. On the other side of the ball the Bulldog defense has tallied up three interceptions, 14 broken up passes and 10 quarterback hurries.
