Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says Assistant Minister for the Republic Matt Thistlethwaite “has been caught out looking to head-up a $1,250 a head fundraiser for the Australian Republican movement in a month’s time.”
Mr Clennell said he telephoned the Assistant Minister on Wednesday morning.
“He told me he believed the event was going to be postponed and that it was booked in some time ago – within 20 minutes the post had been ripped off the website,” Mr Clennell said.
